Mari Janko, PA-C

Ms. Janko received her physician assistant degree from St. Louis University in Missouri in 2003.

Physician assistants (PA) are healthcare professionals licensed to practice medicine with physician supervision. As part of their comprehensive responsibilities, PAs conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, and counsel on preventive health care. Within the physician-PA relationship, physician assistants exercise autonomy in medical decision-making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services.

Ms. Janko provides care for adults and children. She will take medical histories and perform physical exams and tests, order and interpret lab studies and x-rays, and identify and treat problems and conditions that are often seen in the office.

AMS believes strongly in preventive measures. For children, such prevention includes immunizations for the prevention of infections and childhood diseases, as well as guidance for accident prevention in the home. For adults, we emphasize regular checkups in order to focus on early detection of potential‑and silent‑problems such as heart disease, high blood pressure and cervical cancer. Preventive medicine also means advice on lifestyle changes that can help patients stay well.

An informed patient is a more satisfied patient.

Educating patients is an important part of the AMS philosophy. This means explaining your treatment in detail, providing you with literature on your illness or treatment, and generally making certain that you understand the care that is prescribed for you. The more informed you are, the better able you will be to participate in your progress, so we encourage questions.
